Laser Therapy for Horses
Laser can be used for Equine Athletes to stimulate and warm muscles up pre-performance or to assist:
Post-performance Recovery
Regeneration
Re-performance.
Horses react well to laser muscle treatment and respond in a similar way to massage except it is completely non-invasive and therefore they will often relax more quickly, with a lot of visible chewing and yawning. It is recognised that highly tuned elite equine athletes appear to enjoy it the most and can be very reactive to the laser releasing muscle tensions.
Previously the most common association with lasers is with wound healing - which assists the wound healing time and the structural integrity of the scar.
Laser can also be used instead of needles to stimulate acupuncture points.
Class 3B low level light lasers AKA cold lasers are legal, safe and do not burn tissue.
